Introduction

Precision Filters 28000 System offers a complete line of signal conditioners suitable for either dynamic or static measurements that accommodate a wide variety of transducers including voltage, charge, static or dynamic strain (including high temperature strain) or any bridge-type transducer such as pressure sensors, piezo-resistive accelerometers, load cells and more.

Precision Filters has manufactured quality signal conditioning products since 1975. We’ve worked closely with our customers to better understand the ever-changing test and measurement challenges. Our understanding of these challenges has driven us to design innovative product solutions for today’s leading R&D facilities. The 28000 System is our latest generation of signal conditioning products designed to deliver industry-leading performance. We also know that high performance signal conditioning alone is not proof of a valid measurement. That is why we provide innovative features to allow the user to perform quick, automated verification of the measurement system and even the connected cable and sensor. We are the only company to offer NIST traceable Factory Acceptance Tests that allow the user to easily and automatically measure all key performance specifications on the equipment “in-place”.

Precision Technology

Precision Filters is driven to find the best signal conditioning solution for today’s challenging measurements. Our low-noise, low-distortion, high common-mode rejection filter/amplifier products have been used for over 35 years to make sensitive measurements on hydrophones for underwater acoustics. Our strain gage amplifiers are the standard by which others are measured and have unique capabilities for measuring dynamic and static strain even in harsh environmental conditions. PFI’s FLAT/PULSE filter technology is superior to industry standard Butterworth and Bessel types. And our vibration products include state-of-the-art charge amplifiers for grounded, floating and differential piezo-electric sensors and are free from low-frequency peaking that plague general purpose charge amplifiers.

Verification at Test Time

Continual setup, tear down and reconfiguring of sensitive test equipment demands a rigorous protocol to prove that every channel is operating correctly at test time. The 28000 System provides a layer of built-in verification and validation capability to confirm proper operation of the measurement system including sensor and cable. Upon completion of the verification testing, a status report is provided as a defendable means to document system validity at the time of the actual test.

Yearly Calibration

All test systems require periodic calibration. The Precision 28000’s automated built-in test capabilities allow the user to perform convenient, affordable NIST traceable yearly calibration tests on-site without removing the system from the equipment rack. This eliminates the need for expensive off-site calibrations and system downtime.
