Precision Filters Announces 8-Channel Filter to Its cDAQ & cRIO Family

Precision Filters’ C Series modules bring unprecedented function and performance to measurement systems built on National Instruments’™ CompactRIO and CompactDAQ platforms. The latest addition to Precision’s C Series line is the PFI-9608, which offers eight channels of high-performance filters. The 9608’s sharp, programmable low-pass filters provide alias protection for NI analog-to-digital converter modules.

Each of the 9608’s channels is equipped with a fully programmable 4-pole, 4-zero low-pass filter with unity gain. These low-pass filters feature Precision Filters’ FLAT/PULSE low-pass filter technology: Choose flat mode for maximally flat pass-band amplitude response with sharp roll-off, or pulse mode for low phase distortion and optimized transient response. You can program the filter cutoff frequency independently on each channel, and the differential input amplifier provides excellent rejection to common mode signals. The low-pass filters have sharp, selective response that allows for lower sampling rates for required alias protection. Outstanding channel-to-channel phase and amplitude match makes the 9608 ideal for applications where time coherence between channels must be maintained.

Use the supplied LabVIEW™ module driver VI to integrate the 9608 with NI voltage input A/D modules in a cDAQ or cRIO chassis. Or build a turn-key signal conditioning front-end using an Ethernet RIO chassis and PFI’s standalone graphical user interface—no need to write any software.
